Dialysis
Barney began dialyzing in 1989 after a slow and total loss of kidney function. He dialyzed for 14 years. He was on a waiting list for a transplant for years and when the call came Jan 2003, he was ready for a change. A new life without dialysis outweighed the risks from the surgery that he was willing to take. Unfortunately, those risks were greater than his body could cope with.
